LEHI — A man was airlifted to a local hospital after two cars collided in an intersection and hit a pedestrian in Lehi Thursday afternoon, police said.

Officials were dispatched to the area of 1200 E. Main St. and State Street in Lehi after receiving reports of the auto-pedestrian crash around 12:30 p.m.

The two vehicles collided in the intersection as one attempted to make a left turn and the other was going straight. The vehicle that was going straight spun out and hit the pedestrian that was crossing the street and the man was thrown into another vehicle, according to police.

The pedestrian was seriously injured and airlifted to Utah Valley Hospital. One of the drivers of the vehicles had cuts on her face caused by the airbag and was transported via ambulance to a local hospital.

Eastbound Main Street and State Street were closed for about an hour following the accident, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.

The accident came less than 24 hours after another woman was killed in an auto-pedestrian crash in Lehi Wednesday.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. More information will be released as it is received.
