LEHI — A woman was hit and killed by a car while walking home from work Wednesday.
The woman, believed to be between 40 and 50 years old, left work at McDonald's, 48 S. 850 East, about 10 p.m., according to Lehi police. She was hit by a car about 30 minutes later near 400 East and Main.
There is no crosswalk or stoplight in that area. It was unclear Thursday whether the woman was trying to cross the street or was just walking in the road.
The woman lives in Lehi and typically walked to work every day, according to police. Investigators were trying to figure out Thursday whether the woman went anywhere else between work and where she was hit.
The woman's name was not immediately released as detectives continued to look for her family members to notify.
No citations were issued Wednesday.
