SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Carbon County sheriff has temporarily called off the search for the body of 1-year-old Jayden Seal, who died in a flash flood between Price and Helper on July 30.
"More than likely the (search) dogs will come back on another day, but it's just going to be a while until (the Price) River goes down," sheriff's Sgt. Tory Christiansen said Sunday.
Jayden and his 5-year-old brother, Levi, died when a 20-foot wall of water hit their family's Ford Bronco while they were traveling near Garley Canyon. Jayden's parents, Josh and Courtney Seal, and his 2-year-old sister, Brooklynn, survived.
"We basically hit the same areas Saturday that we did the first seven days," Christiansen told the Deseret Morning News.
"We had dogs down here again from Duchesne County. We used explosives on one of the big log jams we weren't sure of" to turn over the material so the dogs could check, but "there was nothing there," he said.
Saturday, searchers again looked from where the vehicle ended up to the Woodside area, between Price and Green River.
Searchers have focused on a five-mile stretch between where the child entered Garley's Wash and a culvert that runs under a nearby golf course. Rescuers also searched the Price and Green rivers.
