(KSL News) -- A Draper man accused of dumping the body of a friend who overdosed will be sentenced today.
Jasen Calacino is charged with abuse of a dead body. Investigators say he and friend Macall Peterson waited to call 9-1-1 when their friend, Amelia Sorich overdosed on cocaine and heroin.
The two then hid her body in the Bountiful foothills.
Peterson plead guilty to negligent homicide and desecration of a body, she is now serving five years in jail.
Homicide charges against Calacino were dropped because of a lack of evidence.
