ST. GEORGE — The Virgin River Trail and river itself under I-15 will be closed for all public use for the next several months as Utah Department of Transportation crews widen the freeway and replace the bridges over the river.

To facilitate construction of the new bridges, the Virgin River has been routed through a large pipe during the construction period. The river will remain impassable during construction. Those desiring to float down the river should exit the river at the Confluence Park Trailhead and re-enter the river at the Man-o-War Trailhead.

To learn more about the project and to access up-to-the-date information on the trail and river closure, visit the project website at udottraffic.utah.gov or contact the project team by phone at 435-379-3435 or emailing exit4_5@utah.gov.
