BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Two sweeping transportation funding proposals were introduced in the Idaho Legislature on Friday, providing a first look at what legislative leaders will spend their time doing in the final weeks of the session. However, the proposals introduced in the Senate are unlikely to be passed without facing significant edits in the House.

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Authorities in eastern Idaho have arrested an 18-year-old man after students reported seeing a man with a gun near Pocatello High School. KIFI-TV reports that Pocatello police arrested Michael T. Randall Friday morning on suspicion of possessing a weapon on school property and carrying a concealed weapon while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Lawmakers on Friday approved advancing a proposed amendment to Idaho's constitution that would give crime victims and their families the same rights as those charged with the crime. The proposal struck an emotional chord among legislative leaders on the Senate State Affairs Committee who sent it to the Senate floor after a teary two-hour committee hearing.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho House panel has introduced a measure to expand the state's open meeting laws. Rep. Tom Loertscher, a Republican from Iona, told the House Ways and Means Committee on Friday that councils, boards and commissions created by executive order should be subjected to the Idaho Open Meeting Law.
