WEST JORDAN — A West Jordan woman accused of pouring hot water over her young daughter's hands has been charged with felony child abuse.

Diana Victoria Amador, 22, was charged Wednesday in 3rd District Court with child abuse, a second-degree felony.

On Feb. 24, Amador became "frustrated" with her 20-month-old daughter and "intentionally poured scalding hot water on (her) hands," resulting in third-degree burns, according to charging documents.

The toddler and two other children were taken into state protective custody following the incident, according to West Jordan police.
