WASHINGTON (AP) — The Department of Homeland Security is confirming the authenticity of a report obtained by The Associated Press that found insufficient evidence that citizens of seven Muslim-majority nations included in President Donald Trump's travel ban pose a terror threat to the U.S. But a spokeswoman says the draft is not a final comprehensive review.

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — The bill could pass $1 billion to repair California's crumbling roads, dams and other critical infrastructure hammered by an onslaught of storms this winter. Enough rain and snow has fallen on the northern part of the state to end a five-year drought. But storms have damaged roads, bridges and dams.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — It's still unclear how soon Congress will provide funding for President Donald trump's border wall, nor I it known how much will be allocated, but U.S. Customs and Border Protection has set mid-April as the target date to start awarding contracts. The agency says it will request bids on or around March 6th.

SOUTH OF MOSUL, Iraq (AP) — Iraqi forces are meeting determined resistance as they advance deeper into western Mosul today. A commander on the scene says entrenched Islamic State fighters are responding with car bombs, snipers and dozens of armed drones. Hundreds of civilian have fled the conflict zone.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — An Afghan official says an ambush today killed 10 police officers as they left a mosque and that the wife of a police commander died when she rushed to the scene in a northern province. IS-linked militants have been active in Afghanistan's eastern regions, but have recently begun operating in the north of the country as well.
