LEHI — The body of a man wanted in connection with the shooting of his estranged wife at a convenience store in American Fork on Christmas Eve was discovered Sunday, police said.
The body of Michael Darrin Lowe, 49, was located at Willow Park in Lehi by someone visiting the park, according to American Fork Sgt. Cameron Paul. Paul said the body was found in some thick reeds and willows, and partially buried in snow.
Paul said the park had been searched by officers before.
"We do believe we were unable to see him during all of our searches because of the snow," Paul said.
Lowe was wanted by police after his estranged wife was shot on Christmas Eve at the convenience store where she works.
Police said Lowe entered the Tesoro Fast Gas, 312 N.W. State, shortly before 6:45 a.m. that morning and shot his estranged wife, Tina Marie Lowe, 39, in an incident of domestic violence.
Paul said the Medical Examiner’s Office was conducting an autopsy on Lowe and there is no official cause of death as of Sunday afternoon. American Fork Lt. Gregg Ludlow said in December that Lowe was "armed and dangerous and possibly suicidal."

Paul said a handgun was recovered near Michael Lowe's body Sunday. The handgun carried the same caliber bullets as ones found at the scene of the shooting last month.
Tina Lowe remains hospitalized in serious condition, police said Sunday.
"She has a very long road ahead of her to recovery," Paul said.
Police investigations showed “an ongoing history of domestic violence-related incidents which unfortunately have not been reported to law enforcement," Ludlow said in December.
