(KSL News) One Utah bank is actually expanding -- despite the current market worries.
Yesterday, Zions Bank Corp. announced it will open several new full-service branches in the coming year, but it will close some 21 branches in Smith's Food & Drug stores. A spokesman for the bank said the move it being made to better serve the needs of customers.
Employees at in-store branches will be transferred to different branches.
Zions also is building a new financial center in Provo, which should be open in early 2010.
