(KSL News) -- Doctors at Primary Children's Medical Center adjusted the medication for one of the Herrin twins after she began having hallucinations.

Doctors say formerly conjoined twins Maliyah and Kendra were given morphine as pain medication after their separation surgery.

Maliyah began have hallucinations, saying she saw snakes when her mother came to visit her. Doctors changed her pain medication and gave her some new blood and she's doing better.

Doctors say hallucinations are a common side-effect of extended use of morphine.
