RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas (AP) — Antonio Green and Nick Dixon combined to score 49 points as Texas-Rio Grande Valley romped past NAIA Our Lady of the Lake, 97-81 on Thursday night.

The Vaqueros led by just eight points at intermission, but took an 11-point lead on Green's 3-pointer four minutes into the second half that made it 59-48.

Green knocked down 9 of 17 shots from beyond the 3-point arc and finished with 29 points, one shy of his career high. Dixon added 20 points and Xavier McDaniel Jr. added 17 points off the Vaqueros bench.

Joe Jackson scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Our Lady of the Lake, a Catholic university in San Antonio.

Texas-Rio Grande Valley (7-9) closes out its nonconference slate Saturday against Division II Texas A&M-Kingsville and open Western Athletic Conference play on the road Thursday at Chicago State and Saturday at Missouri-Kansas City.
