(KSL News) The U.S. Department of Transportation is pitching in to pay for UTA's mid-Jordan TRAX rail line.
Rep. Jim Matheson made the announcement yesterday that the department has approved a grant to reimburse UTA more than $19 million for the line. The project's total cost is around $220 million.
The Jordan TRAX line will branch off the existing north-south TRAX line at Murray and serve Midvale, West Jordan and South Jordan. It's scheduled to open in 2012.
