(KSL News) A broken leg is never good news for a horse, but a horse in Kanab is proving euthanasia is not always the right cure.
Riley came to the Best Friend's Animal Sanctuary four years ago with a broken leg and was several hundred pounds underweight. Instead of euthanasia, doctors opted to outfit Riley with a prosthetic leg. It's been a successful choice, and Riley is able to roam with other horses and lead a normal life.
Now the staff at Best Friend's hope more people choose prosthetic limbs for animals.
