(KSL News) A UTA FrontRunner train collided this evening with a van.
Three women were in the van as it became caught on the tracks between the crossing arms at 1400 W. Gordon St. in Layton. No one was injured.
The accident did cause long delays, and the reaction was mixed at the intermodal hub in Salt Lake.
Commuter Rhonda Botbyl said, "We were kept on the train there for about 45 minutes, taken into Layton, and then they put us on the wrong train. Then they put us back on the right train. It's been horrible."
Another commuter, Alan Wadge, said, "Well, you know, delays happen. It's been atypical so it's not a big problem to me."
UTA says it's relieved no one was hurt and says this is a reminder to pay attention to warning signs and the crossing bars.
