(KSL News) Conflicting stories are making it somewhat difficult for Salt Lake Police to investigate an early morning shooting.

Police say the victim came to the Temple View motel at 325 N. 300 West around 3 am, saying he'd been shot.

Police say he was shot within a one-block radius of the motel, but officers have not been able to pinpoint the exact location.

They're also getting different stories from witnesses and the victim.

Lt. C.T. Smith, Salt Lake City Police Dept.: "Any time you've got conflicting stories from the victim and independent witnesses on the outside, obviously we want to delve into that more and try to find out if there was a reason the victim would want to hold something from police."

Police are now looking for two hispanic men in a red full-size pick-up truck. The wound was minimal. The victim is expected to be okay.
