OREM — The parents of a boy that was found by police were located Wednesday night, police said.
Orem police posted a photo of the boy who was found near 2000 S. Sandhill Rd. earlier Wednesday. The boy is roughly around 10 years old, “nonverbal (and) possibly autistic," according to Lt. Craig Martinez of the Orem Police Department.
Martinez said the boy was never reported missing and police were trying for more than an hour to locate his parents before taking to social media in an effort to locate the parents.
Martinez said police were using reverse 911 calls and social media in their efforts.
The department tweeted that the parents had been found shortly after 7:50 p.m.
