The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is making room for more bicycles on TRAX, but it's not sure how to do that on buses.
TRAX is packed with bike riders every day. Now UTA is trying to make more room for them.
UTA will remove one bench seat at the end of each light-rail car so that the bikes all fit and don't block the doorways.
But it will be a harder fit on buses. Bikes are strapped to the front on a rack, but only two fit right now. UTA found out a triple rack blocks the headlights.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports UTA also will add more bike lockers for rent at TRAX and FrontRunner commuter rail stations.
