(KSL News) The Utah man once accused of selling stolen items on auction site eBay has struck a deal with prosecutors.

The Salt Lake County District Attorney's office dropped a money laundering charge against John Swanson. In turn, Swanson pleaded guilty to a drug charge from the same case.

We've been following this story for nearly two years, after KSL investigative reporter Debbie Dujanovic confronted Swanson about his eBay business in 2006. Detectives said burglars brought him stolen items that were then put up for bid.

Before the judge sentenced Swanson today, he questioned why prosecutors dismissed the money laundering charge. The District Attorney's Office told us it's because they couldn't locate an important witness in the case.

So Swanson got three years probation plus 60 days home confinement.
