(KSL News) -- Utahns will soon be able to see another historical bronze Eagle overlooking the city.
Grant Fairbanks, M.D.: "This is a miniature eagle gate with a miniature eagle for a pioneer village."
This is the Place Heritage Park now has its own Eagle Gate. Brigham Young originally built an Eagle gate as an entrance to his property. He had the first Eagle carved out of wood.
After a truck toppled the gate in the 50s, Grant Fairbanks sculpted a new eagle with a twenty-foot wingspan overlooking State Street and South Temple. Fairbanks also sculpted a smaller version that, until now, has been sitting in storage.
Visitors will now be able to see the smaller eagle at the entryway to the park.
