(KSL News) Drug enforcement agents have taken out a huge marijuana operation hidden in Box Elder County.
A tip led drug agents to a remote area in the Sawtooth Mountains. They seized more than 7,000 marijuana plants, some 12 feet tall.
They also found a well-stocked camp where growers appeared to have been living all summer.
Agents say in the last week, federal, state and local agencies have seized almost 60,000 marijuana plants from areas in Utah. They're acting quickly so that Utah families who recreate outdoors don't have to worry about run-ins with drug traffickers.
