SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker wants state officials to delay approval of a master plan for the University of Utah.
A draft plan approved in June included at least 40 new buildings on the main campus over the next two decades and 16 old buildings that would be demolished.
Becker says he likes the plan's focus on making campus more pedestrian friendly.
He says he wants neighbors of the university to have more time to comment on development ideas along the campus periphery.
He's asking the state Board of Regents, scheduled to meet Friday in Price, to postpone approval of the plan.
