(KSL News) There's a big mess on I-15 in Utah County tonight.
The accident happened at about 7:30 tonight. Two giant tanks came off of a semi truck when it hit an overpass in American Fork. The overpass has a clearance of only 14 feet 7 inches, and the load exceeded that.
One of the tanks smashed an SUV, which then caught on fire. Luckily, the occupants of the SUV got out and weren't injured.
The freeway was closed in both directions for an hour. Right now, two northbound lanes are open and one southbound lane is open. All lanes are expected to be open by 10:30 tonight.
