(KSL News) -- Two hikers ran into trouble on a mountain while other hikers ran into trouble with the law. It happened at the same time up Bell's Canyon.

An 18-year-old and friend were hiking last night when one of them fell down some rocks. He didn't seem hurt, but he had trouble breathing so his friend called for help.

Search and rescue teams found the pair and lifted them off the mountain. The hiker has a hurt wrist, but he will be okay.

Meantime, another group of hikers sent up an SOS signal with their flashlights.

Lt. John Facet, Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office: "If somebody flashes three lights in a row on a mountainside, we assume that somebody is hurt there and we're going to respond to check them out."

But those hikers weren't hurt, they were just playing around. Now they're in trouble. Officers say they likely won't be punished but they will get a lecture.
