Emergency crews responded to a report of the crash near 13400 South 5000 West at approximately 1:18 a.m., according to detective Ken Hansen of the Unified Police Department.
Hansen said the motorcyclist was traveling west and collided with a vehicle traveling in the eastbound lane that was turning left into a parking lot.
The motorcyclist, whose name was not immediately released, was taken by medical helicopter to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition, Hansen said.
Hansen said the rider was not wearing a helmet.
