MIDVALE — Two men have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man in Midvale a week ago.
Jonathon William Rodgers, 28, was arrested for investigation of murder. Christopher Bailey, 36, was also arrested and was being held Friday on a federal probation violation, said Unified police detective Ken Hansen.
Deondre Baldwin, 21, was shot and killed Sept. 3 at the Brighton Place Apartment Complex, 189 W. Plum Tree Lane (6905 South). A second man, Brenner Larson, 20, was critically injured.
Rodgers and Bailey went to an apartment, entered without permission, and "took all three victims to the living room demanding money and drugs," according to a Salt Lake County Jail report.
Rogers was "pointing the gun at the victims the entire incident" while Bailey put his hands around the neck of one of the men, the report states.

Bailey and Baldwin started fighting and ended up on the floor, according to police. Larson started walking toward Rodgers, telling him not to shoot. That's when Rodgers shot Larson in the stomach and then shot and killed Baldwin, the report states.
Rodgers was arrested in Ogden.
Rodgers already has a case pending involving forgery and drug-related charges, according to court records. A warrant for his arrest was issued Aug. 24 for failing to show up for court. His next hearing for that case is scheduled for Sept. 22.
Bailey was convicted in federal court of an armed bank robbery in 2002 and was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison. He violated the conditions of his release and was sentenced to another year in federal prison in 2014, according to court records. His latest supervised release started in April of 2015.
