OGDEN — On Saturday, Sept. 10, women will gather at the Worth of One Women’s Retreat to be pampered, entertained and emotionally fed.
The event, founded by Andrea Tesch, will feature keynote presentations by Tesch, Elizabeth Smart and Kim Duncan. It will also include a spa pampering section, breakout sessions, a private concert with Margie Chadburn and more, according to Tesch.
“It’s really just a safe place for women to come be uplifted and inspired,” she said.
Tesch, a mother of three children under the age of 6, said it dawned on her when she was with her kids one day that it’s easy to get lost within motherhood or to get lost in a career “or like, as we get older, I think a lot of people have an idea of where they will be and maybe they’re not there. And sometimes we can just be hard on ourselves and lose, like, who we are and kind of our purpose.”
She said she was inspired to organize this event so women can realize their purpose and potential and take time out for themselves to re-energize and make sure they don’t lose themselves within motherhood, their jobs or their trials. She pointed out that everybody goes through hard things and that it’s important not to let those difficulties define them.
This will be the second year the event has been held. Tesch purposely planned it to fall on World Suicide Prevention Day.
“So it kind of goes along with the theme 'worth of one,' and just realizing that, you know, we’re all of worth, and, you know, every single person matters. We’re all here for a reason, and, you know, we each have talents and … a purpose that we’re here. And so, that’s kind of why we chose that day,” she said.
The event, which will be held at the Marriott in Ogden at 247 24th Street, will start at 8:30 a.m. and will cost $57. To purchase tickets to the event, visit the website. For those wishing to get their ticket at the door, there will be very limited seating available.
