THE GREAT OUTDOORS — Although the summer is coming to an end, there is still time to fit in some outdoor fun floating down one of Utah’s scenic river routes.

Here are three rivers in Utah that are worth tubing down this Labor Day weekend.

1. Provo River

The Provo River, located in Utah and Wasatch counties, starts in the Uinta Mountains at Washington Lake and flows about 70 miles to Provo. Although fishing is a very popular sport at this river, tubing never goes out of style. The river takes about two hours to float, depending on water level.

Runoff River Adventures rents out tubes to tubers at least 14 years of age for $13 or $9 per person with a group of 10 or more on Monday through Thursday, and $17 or $12 per person with a group of 10 or more on Fridays, Saturdays and all holidays. Tubing season is June 1 to Sept. 7.

Provo River Tubing allows tubers to float from the Deer Creek Reservoir dam to Vivian Park, 1.5 miles past Bridal Veil Falls. The river will be open to the public until Labor Day, and is open every day of the week, including Sundays. A single tube is $14 Monday through Thursday and $19 on Fridays and Saturdays. All prices include a life vest, parking and transportation to the dam.

High County Adventure is open for tubing from May 1 to Sept. 30 every day except Sundays. Single tubes are available for $14 on weekdays and $18 on Saturdays and holidays.

2. Weber River

Tube down the Weber River with Barefoot Tubing on a two-hour journey and see sights like the Weber Arch and Devil’s Slide. Reservations are required in order to have a guaranteed spot, and all tubers must be at least 12 years of age.

Barefoot Tubing’s Weber River tubing trips cost $25 per person and include a tube and a life jacket. The cost also includes a round-trip shuttle from Barefoot Tubing's location in Morgan to Henefer where the trip begins, down to Taggart where the shuttle takes tubers back to Morgan.

Park City Tubing with Destination Sports & Adventures will take tubers down the Weber River on an 8-mile, three-hour scenic section of the river for $25 rental. Guests must be 12 years old or older to participate.

3. Sevier River

For those who are looking for a leisurely float down the Sevier River, this Utah River Trip with Candy Mountain Resort is perfect. This section of the river has no rapids and will carry tubers about 3 miles from the drop-off point at Candy Mountain Resort, 5 miles from Marysvale. The trip is shorter than others, but floaters can feel free to stop and swim or have lunch on the river during their journey. Pricing is $10 per person.

Whether you’re in the mood for plowing through some whitewater rapids, or a serene float, Utah offers both. Enjoy the last bit of summer and float the river.
