SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A small private school will not be holding classes this year.
Utah Southvalley Community School has closed, leaving some students trying to find a new place to enroll as classes begin elsewhere.
The Utah High School Activities Association says it got a call from the school's acting principal, saying there will not be classes this year.
UHSAA says several students showed up at other high schools asking how to enroll and whether or not they could play sports.
UHSAA says students who were forced to transfer because the private school closed can go to their designated school and play sports without going through a transfer process.
The Deseret News reports the school's closure comes after months of financial trouble that included teachers and staff not being paid.
