SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Court of Appeals is upholding the sexual abuse conviction of a Utah doctor convicted of killing his beauty queen wife. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that the court's decision in the case against Martin MacNeill was issued late Friday. MacNeill was found guilty of forcible sexual abuse of his adult daughter in 2014, a year after being convicted of Michele MacNeill's death.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Navajo Nation wants a lawsuit against the Mormon Church over the alleged sexual abuse of four Navajo children heard in tribal court. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that the tribe's attorneys filed a motion asking a federal judge to dismiss the suit until after it goes through tribal proceedings. Two men and two women say they were sexually abused in the 1960s through the early '80s while in a church-run foster program.

OGDEN, Utah (AP) — A Utah restaurant known for kilt-clad servers who openly carry firearms will have to keep them under wraps. The Standard-Examiner of Ogden reports that Sea Bears Ogden Fish House's staff can only carry concealed weapons now that the eatery has relocated to the city's historic Union Station. Anyone with a concealed-carry permit can still carry a weapon.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Park City police are investigating a virtual kidnapping, a scam they say is on the rise. Police Capt. Kirk tells KSL-TV of Salt Lake City that a family received calls Aug. 12 from people claiming to have kidnapped their 15-year-old son.
