A woman has been charged for the alcohol-poisoning death of a teenager.
Uintah County prosecutors have charged Candice Collard with felony child abuse homicide for taking a drunk teenager to her home instead of the hospital.
Back in April, Jess Horrocks was drinking hard liquor and passed out. Prosecutors say Collard took him to her home in Jensen, where another adult called 911. The next day, Horrocks was ruled brain dead and disconnected from life support.
The Deseret News reports the Uintah County Attorney's Office also filed an alternative charge of abuse or neglect of a disabled child against Collard.
A date for her court appearance has not been set.
