The Corner Canyon fire is just one of eight burning around the state. In Tooele County the Gate Narrow fire has burned more than 250 acres and is threatening close to 20 structures.

The fire has also forced the closure of State Road 199 between Terra and Rush Valley. That road reopened at 4:30 p.m. The fire is 10 percent contained. It's believed to have been started by a vehicle.

The Lonesome Pine fire, which started over the weekend, is burning in the central part of the state near Eureka. It has burned more than 550 acres. More than 130 firefighters are battling the flames from the ground and the air. Crews have closed the Eureka Cemetery Road to fight the fire.

This fire is 30 percent contained. The cause of this fire is under investigation.

The Forsyth Fire, the Fish Fire, and the Mill Hollow fire are all considered wildland use fires, meaning they are being allowed to burn unchecked because they are not threatening structures and are benefiting the ecosystems.

In addition, two prescribed burns have been set. The Puma Valley fire is burning in the southwestern part of the state, and the Saddle Creek fire is burning in Wasatch Cache National Forest.
