MURRAY — A ceremony Friday hosted by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services recognized 23 youths ages 6 to 17, who have obtained citizenship through their parents.

Some were adopted by U.S. citizen parents and others derived citizenship when their immigrant parents became naturalized citizens.

The children participating in Friday's ceremony are from 13 countries — Afghanistan, Burundi, Canada, China, Columbia, Ghana, Haiti, Hong Kong, Iraq, Mexico, Nepal, Thailand and the United Kingdom.

The ceremony was held at Wheeler Historic Farm.
