3 injured at Heber City demolition derby by flying metal

HEBER CITY, Utah (AP) — Three people were injured by a flying piece of metal during a demolition derby in Heber City.

KSL-TV of Salt Lake City reports (http://bit.ly/2aECBSi) that the incident happened Saturday night after a truck hit another vehicle, loosening an object from underneath the vehicle.

Video shows the object then went hurling toward the stands.

Three people who were struck or injured were taken to Heber Valley Medical Center.

Hospital officials said Sunday that one patient remained in fair condition. Another one has already been released.

The third patient was transferred to Utah Valley Medical Center.

That person's condition was not immediately known.
