The U.S Women's volleyball team played hard but lost the gold against Brazil in Beijing. It was a tough loss for the entire team, including Utah's Logan Tom.
Brazil beat the U.S. 3-1, and the American's became very emotional after they lost.
Brazil won the last point when a spike from Logan Tom, Highland High School graduate, sailed out of bounds. After that, the U.S. team all circled and hugged each other, many crying, but were proud of how far they have come.
Tom is considered to be one of the best players on the team by her teammates. This is her third Olympics and first medal. She says, "Silver is bittersweet, but I don't think anyone on this team has any regrets about it. We came a long way in this tournament, and we fought hard today, so I'm happy with this no matter what anyone says."
This is the first time Brazil has won gold in women's volleyball. The United States has never won a gold medal in Women's Volleyball. They won the silver medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Games and a bronze in 1992.
