SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Monique Currie scored nine of her season-high 20 points in the fourth quarter and San Antonio beat the Washington Mystics 77-70 on Wednesday night without the Stars' leading scorer Kayla McBride.

San Antonio announced prior to the game that McBride would miss the rest of the season with a right foot fracture. The Stars responded with three starters scoring 16-plus points.

Washington took a 64-63 lead after two Natasha Cloud free throws with 7:11 left, but the Mystics didn't score again until 1:28 remained. San Antonio went scoreless for nearly 4 minutes during the stretch, but scored eight straight for a 71-64 lead with 1:38 left.

Dearica Hamby matched a season high with 18 points and Moriah Jefferson added 16 points for San Antonio (5-13), which is ranked No. 12 in the AP power poll. Jayne Appel-Marinelli had 12 rebounds and Currie grabbed nine.

Tayler Hill scored 14 points and Emma Meesseman had all 10 of her points in the first half for fourth-ranked Washington (9-10).
