SANTA CLARA, Washington County — Two people have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of a Santa Clara man who has been missing since June 27, including the mother of the man's child.

The whereabouts of David Corey Heisler, 30, however, remained unknown Wednesday.

Francis Lee McCard, 55, and Kelley Marie Perry, 31, both of Washington City, were arrested Tuesday and booked into the Washington County Jail for investigation of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

"I can tell you they were both interviewed and they both admitted to having involvement with his disappearance," said Santa Clara police detective Chad Holt.

Neither McCard nor Perry, however, gave any indication as to the condition of Heisler when they were arrested, he said.

Police planned to search along the Arizona Strip for Heisler Wednesday.

McCard was being held without bail and Perry on $100,000 cash-only bail.

Heisler went missing from his home early on the morning of June 27. Police noted that there were undisclosed items missing from his house, as well as his 2002 Saturn.

Blood was also found in the kithchen and garage. Heisler's father reported his son missing after he came home and could not find him.

Heisler's vehicle was found abandoned July 1 in Beaver Dam, Arizona. The Santa Clara-Ivins Police Department and the Utah State Crime Lab checked the vehicle for evidence. Holt declined to say Wednesday what, if any, evidence was collected.

The FBI, Mojave County Sherriff’s Office, and Bureau of Land Management are also assisting in the investigation.

Holt did not have a possible motive Wednesday for the alleged kidnapping. Heisler was given full custody of his and Perry's 6-year-old daughter about two weeks before disappearing. The young girl was with her mother on vacation when he disappeared. Holt said Wednesday the girl was with Heisler's family.

Holt did not know Wednesday if other arrests were possible.

Perry is current facing felony drug possession charges. She was scheduled to make a possible plea deal in that case on Aug. 15, according to court records.

McCard was booked into the Washington County Jail for investigation of driving on a denied license about four hours before being booked for investigation of aggravated kidnapping, according to jail records.

Since he disappeared, friends and family members have conducted searches and maintained a strong social media presence to keep Heisler's name and picture in the public eye, including frequent updates on the Help Find David Heisler Facebook page.
