SALT LAKE CITY — A wanted individual was arrested after he barricaded himself in a motel room on Saturday.
On Saturday morning, police say Andrey Tkachenko was in an argument with a woman in Murray at 4538 South 700 East. A gun was pulled and fired, but no one was hurt.
Tkachenko fled the scene and barricaded himself in a room at the Skyline Inn on Foothill Drive. Police later arrested Tkachenko without further incident.
“It’s a positive result when nobody gets hurt,” said Unified Police detective Ken Hansen. “We always worry when someone decides to barricade themselves. There were other people in that room with him. Everybody is safe.”
Police said Tkachenko was wanted for numerous felonies. West Valley City police, Salt Lake City police and Metro Gang Unit detectives assisted UPD detectives.
