SALT LAKE CITY — Swedish and Irish soccer fans sing “Dancing Queen,” Kevin Love gets the “Home Alone 2” treatment and a sportscaster pays homage to Kanye West. More fun stories from the world of sports in today's From Left Field!
1. Swedish and Irish soccer fans sing ‘Dancing Queen’ at EURO 2016
EURO 2016 is underway in France. Twenty-four national teams are battling it out on the pitch. Unfortunately, there have been battles among fans both inside and outside of stadiums in this tournament.
Can we all just get along, sing and dance together?
If you’re at a Sweden match, you very well can.
Just before Monday’s Sweden vs. Republic of Ireland match in Paris, the Irish and Swedes got together and instead of fighting, they drank, laughed and danced to the timeless “Dancing Queen” by Sweden’s greatest export (other than Zlatan Ibrahimović) ABBA.

This is what should happen at all soccer matches. Maybe we’ll be entertained to either “Mamma Mia” or “Fernando” at the next Sweden match.
2. Where’s Kevin (Love)?!: Home Alone 2 Edition
The most criticized player of the NBA Finals is Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love. He’s seen as an outcast by most — perhaps even his own teammates — and so far, he hasn’t had a breakout game in the series.
In Game 5, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving scored 41 points each to keep the Cavs alive against the Golden State Warriors. Love struggled, as he only scored two points on the night.
With Love’s struggles in Game 5, it made some jokingly wonder if Kevin got on the plane and made it to the Bay Area from Cleveland. The guys at Bleacher Report felt this way, and decided to “re-create” the moment the Cavs noticed Kevin Love did not make it to San Francisco.

If the Cavs are the McCallisters, does that make Steph Curry and Klay Thompson the Wet Bandits? They are the “Splash Brothers,” of course.
3. Sportscaster does an epic Kanye West themed sportscast
Kanye West is someone most people either like or dislike, to say the least. Kanye recently turned 39 years old as well as released the new Adidas Yeezy Boost 750.
In honor of “Yeezy Season,” Ari Alexander of KVOA News Tucson decided to dedicate his sportscast to Mr. Kim Kardashian.
And it was epic.
Alexander referenced a Kanye song or lyric 39 times during the three-minute sportscast.
This isn’t the first time Alexander has dedicated a sportscast to an artist. Last month, Alexander did a Prince tribute sportscast that was just as excellent as the Kanye one.
Great job, Ari. Yeezy would be proud. Reach for the stars, so if you fall, you land on a cloud.
