THE PACIFIC — Those that are around my same age probably think of movies like "Aladdin," "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Little Mermaid" when they think of animated Disney films.

A newer generation has a different view of things, however. Disney animation to this crew are films like "Wreck-It Ralph," "Frozen" and "Tangled." There was a time I thought that these new films really paled in comparison to the older films, but I've come to realize I'm wrong.

Disney has really stepped up their game, and their most recent offering — "Zootopia" — was really incredible. We have yet another Disney animated feature to look forward to and now we have our first peek at that new film.

Disney released the first teaser trailer for their new film "Moana."

The films centers around a young woman who uses her navigational talents to set sail for a fabled island accompanied by the demi-god Maui.

The trailer offers a taste of what we can expect from Dwayne Johnson as Maui as well as a hint of new comer Auli'i Carvalho as the titular Moana.

The short trailer makes this look like a potentially fun adventure and definitely gets me excited to see the gorgeous visuals the film will undoubtedly offer. Another thing that intrigues me is Johnson as the voice as Maui. He may not be an Academy Award winning type of actor, but Johnson has an undeniable charm and it should be fun to see him put those talents to an animated film.

"Moana" is due in theaters on November 23.
