LOGAN — A Logan man accused of mailing sexually explicit packages to a high school student was charged Thursday.
Thomas Thackeray, 68, was charged in 1st District Court with stalking, a third-degree felony, court documents state.
Police say Thackeray was released from the Utah State Prison in 2014 and was on parole for similar charges.
Logan police sought the public's help in identifying a man in a surveillance video who was suspected of mailing packages containing "sexually oriented materials and sexually explicit letters" to a teenage boy, said Logan Police Lt. Rod Peterson.
The man in the video entered the Logan post office, 75 W. 200 North, on five occasions to mail the packages to the same boy, who attends high school locally, Peterson said. The boy was singled out by name in each of the packages that were sent to his home, he said.
Upon arresting Thackeray, detectives "found evidence of other potential victims and other potential criminal violations," police said in a Facebook statement.
