Electrician at Newark Liberty airport burned by transformer

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — An electrician working on a transformer at Newark Liberty International Airport has been shocked and burned.

Joe Pentangelo with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police says the 38-year-old PSE&G employee was working on a transformer in Terminal A when he was shocked Wednesday morning.

Pentangelo says the man was conscious and taken to St. Barnabas Medical Center with third-degree burns to his face, legs and chest.

The accident is under investigation.
