MONROE, Sevier County — The death of a 1-year-old girl Tuesday in Monroe was being investigated as a homicide, police said.
The girl's father found her unresponsive in her bed around 12:30 p.m. in a home on Meadowlark Lane (1670 West), Sevier County Sheriff Nathan Curtis said.
The girl's death is being treated as a homicide, but there were no obvious signs of trauma on her body, Curtis said. Her name wasn't immediately released.
A medical examiner was scheduled to perform a preliminary autopsy Wednesday, according to Curtis.
No other details were immediately available.
