MURRAY — A bomb threat at Murray High School at 5440 S. State Street spurred a student evacuation around 12:10 p.m. Monday afternoon, officials said.
The school was cleared from any threat around 3 p.m., and students were allowed to go back to pick up any personal belongings they may have left there. Previously planned activities will still be held at the school Monday evening, according to the school district.
Officials sent students home early and notified parents through social media and phone calls, according to D. Wright with Murray City School District.
According to KKTV, schools in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and Wisconsin reportedly received bomb threats and were evacuated. Police are investigating if the calls came from a robocaller, "a computerized autodialer that normally plays a pre-recorded message."
According to NBC News, schools across the country and Great Britain were evacuated.
This is the third bomb threat to occur in Utah Monday. Suspicious packages were also located near the Salt Lake Central TRAX hub and at a Wells Fargo bank.Contributing: Dave Cawley
