One man remains on the K2 Mountain in Pakistan after a massive rescue effort to save hikers stranded by an avalanche.

You could call him the loneliest man in the world. "I am at about 21,000 feet, and I am in a tent in a sleeping bag laying down here talking on the satellite," David Watson said.

Watson is perched on the side of the second tallest mountain on Earth. He is from Minnesota, but he and his team of hikers from Utah were on nearby Broad Peak when an avalanche killed 11 hikers on K2.

"I started heading up the mountain, fixing new ropes for the Dutch team," he said.

Watson has climbed Mount Everest twice, and now he's left all alone to clean up the tents, rope and other stuff left behind during the rescue effort.
