MOAB — A violent collison near the entrance to Arches National Park Saturday afternoon left a 15-year-old Texas girl dead.

Hannah Greening was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Colorado, where she later died from injuries suffered in the 1:41 p.m. crash, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

Police say the teenager was a passenger in an SUV that hit a Jeep broadside after it pulled onto state Route 191 from Arches Scenic Drive. The Jeep overturned from the impact. Police believe she was wearing a seat belt, but it was improperly fastened.

The driver, Holly Greening, 36, and front passenger, Jessica Pittman, 25, both of San Angelo, were wearing seat belts and suffered only minor injuries. A 5-year-old girl, Emma Greening, also from San Angelo, was properly restrained in a booster seat and also only had minor injuries.

Troopers say the driver of the Jeep, Adrian Najera, 26, from Evansville, Wyo., and his passenger, Cody Lakner, 27, also from Evansville, Wyo., were admitted to Moab Regional Hospital. Both were expected to survive.
