LAS VEGAS (AP) — A fire official says a hotel maintenance worker and one guest were treated for smoke inhalation after an electrical fire at a Las Vegas resort.
Deputy Clark County Fire Chief Roy Session says firefighters quickly extinguished the fire a little before 10 p.m. Wednesday in an electrical panel on the 12th floor of the Westgate Las Vegas hotel near the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Smoke was reported on the 11th and 12th floors, but no evacuation was ordered.
Session says the two people were treated at the scene and weren't hospitalized.
The cause of the fire was being investigated and a damage estimate wasn't immediately made.
The 30-story hotel, with almost 3,000 rooms, was known for many years as the Las Vegas Hilton.
Its owners renamed the Westgate in 2014.
