MIDVALE — Topgolf is more than a driving range.

The golf entertainment complex markets itself as a competitive sports environment-meets-local hangout, and now, it’s coming to Salt Lake City.

Top golf opened its doors Tuesday in its latest location in Midvale, showing off its fun-for-the-whole family persona that has made golf a little bit cooler for every age.

Think of it as a big golf arcade: patrons can hit golf balls into electronic targets on the driving range with a scoring system similar to bowling or darts in groups of six or fewer.

The entertainment center also has a full-service restaurant, with delicacies like bavarian cream-filled sugar doughnut holes, a full-service lounge and a concert stage.

It’s just a place to hang out with your friends, play a little golf, and goof off.

The store opens to the public May 20 at 920 Jordan River Boulevard.
