(KSL News) A driver hit and seriously injured a 3-year-old girl in the intersection of California Avenue and Cheyenne Street this afternoon.
Salt Lake City police say the driver was waiting to turn as the girl and her sister walked up to the intersection.
But just as the driver turned, the girl stepped out, and the driver hit her.
Police say the driver may not have been looking both ways before turning, and he could be cited for improper lookout.
Doctors say the girl's condition is serious, but stable.
