PHOENIX (AP) — A teenager has been arrested in connection with a shooting that critically wounded a high school student in Phoenix.
Phoenix police announced Thursday that a 16-year-old boy has been taken into custody. His name is being withheld because he's a juvenile.
Tayler Maggi was shot on April 14 as he was driving with his girlfriend in north-central Phoenix.
Police say the 18-year-old Sunnyslope High student was struck in the head by a bullet and lost control of the car that then crashed into a wall.
Maggi remains hospitalized in critical condition. His girlfriend wasn't seriously injured.
Police say detectives were able to gather information that identified the 16-year-old boy as the possible shooter.
They say no motive has been established for the shooting and the investigation is continuing.
